It's time to switch to a KeepCup

It is estimated that Australians use 1 billion disposable coffee cups per year! I can't even fricking count that high. I knew the number would be massive, but certainly not that massive! That is just an incredible amount of waste just sitting around polluting our environment.

Most disposable coffee cups can't even be recycled - which apparently a lot of peeps don't realise (Hot Tip: ask for takeaway coffees without the lid). Ones without plastic or waxed coating can be recycled, however, the ones with a film of polyethylene are not recyclable and are the ones that end up in our landfill.

Disposable cups, it is estimated, equate to around 60,000 kilograms of plastic waste per year. Stats also state that it can take up to 50 years for this plastic to break down.

When sitting around trying to breakdown, most coffee cups release a methane gas, which is a greenhouse gas 21 times the global warming potential of carbon dioxide....NOT GOOD people!

KeepCups on the other hand can be recycled, so when you are done with them - which actually might be never - they can be completely recycled.

So get online and design your own KeepCup!

KeepCups are not only great for the environment and sustainability, they are flipping awesome and you can design your own or choose from one of their funky series, like Star Wars.

So, what do you think - time to switch to a KeepCup?
